Ridden with supreme confidence by Vivek G., the daughter of Belardo out of Izba[GER] added another glittering chapter to an already impressive career. The winner is owned by Mr Mehernosh H. Sent off an overwhelming favourite following her exploits in Mumbai and her impressive Bangalore appearance, Margaretta justified every bit of the confidence reposed in her supporters. Settled comfortably during the early stages at the tail end, Vivek allowed the filly to find her rhythm before gradually improving position approaching the home turn. Once asked for an effort in the straight, Margaretta quickly put the issue beyond doubt shooting ahead through a dream opening in the middle.
Although Havoc emerged as the nearest pursuer, she was never able to threaten the winner seriously. Margaretta lengthened her stride in the final furlong and drew clear to score by a comfortable 2¾ lengths, clocking an excellent 1:41.13 for the mile journey. Havoc finished a worthy second ahead of Starzella, while Vortex, Moonveil and the much-talked-about Angelisa finished further adrift.
