ACTION RETURNS TO CHENNAI – GUINDY GEARS UP FOR A BLOCKBUSTER SEASON

Horse racing makes a grand comeback to the historic Guindy Race Course as the Madras Races 2025–2026 get underway after a six-month hiatus. The season opens on Saturday, 30th August 2025, and will span 30 action-packed race days, culminating on Saturday, 14th March 2026.

This season promises to be one of the most competitive and high-profile in recent years. Nearly 200 horses, prepared by 13 ‘A’ licensed trainers led by last season champion Deepesh Narredu and stalwarts such as B. Suresh, J. Sebastian, R. Foley, K.S. Mandanna, R.Ramanathan, N. Rupa are set to battle for honours. In addition, a formidable strength of horses from Bangalore is expected to add further depth and intrigue to the fields.

With stakes in excess of ₹15 crore on offer, the season guarantees high-class contests. Racing enthusiasts can look forward to the participation of India’s finest jockeys, many of whom will be wearing the Guindy silks during these six and a half months of relentless action. The race track, freshly prepared and impeccably manicured, stands ready to endure the thunder of hooves and deliver thrilling finishes.
